Because of the influence of Chinese cuisine in Peru, you should eat in a “Chifa”, what Peruvians call Chinese restaurants. It is a unique and different experience. Typical Chinese dishes are combined with other ingredients, and the final product is a very flavorful meal. There is a Chifa almost on every corner in Miraflores and Barranco, but the ones we recommend are:
Ho Wha. Chinese Peruvian food (Luis’s favorite!) https://chifahouwha.com.pe/en/
Titi. One of the best in Lima. Need to make a reservation. https://chifatiti.com/?lang=en
Japanese flavors are an important part of contemporary Peruvian cuisine. Japanese-influenced food is called “Nikkei” because it is made by the generations born outside of Japan.
Maido Restaurant. Located in Miraflores, it is a fusion of Japanese with Peruvian food. Perennially ranked in the top 10 in The World 50’s Best Restaurants. Highly recommended.
Edo. Sushi. Close by to where we are staying. https://edosushibar.com/
There are also some vegan options in Lima. Some that close by include:
Armonica Café. Vegan place that offers a complete menu, but Carla enjoys all their desserts which are lactose free! https://www.facebook.com/armonicacafe/
El Jardin de Jazmin. Vegetarian food in Miraflores. https://www.facebook.com/eljardindejazmin/
Raw Café. First in raw vegan food in Lima. Independencia street in Miraflores is the nearest location. https://www.rawcafe.com.pe/
